D12 Skew Dice – The dice are skewed, but the odds aren’t!
These wacky-looking dice are actually just as fair as regular dice. Unlike other dice, Skew Dice aren’t mirror symmetric. This means they come in two distinct forms that are mirror images of one another. Dice measure approximately 21mm across.
Additional Information from the manufacturer on Skew Dice
Skew d12 Dice are based on the tetragonal pentagonal dodecahedron, also known as the tetartoid, pentagon-tritetrahedron, and tetrahedric pentagon dodecahedron. This polyhedron, which can be thought of as a distortion of a regular dodecahedron, is an isohedron, meaning that the symmetry group of the polyhedron is transitive on the faces. Despite their bizarre appearance, this means that Skew d12 Dice are just as fair as regular d12 dice. Ed Pegg Jr’s Wolfram Demonstration “The Tetartoid” was helpful in designing these dice.
